What about the existing eco labels?
The Bio-Siegel neither replaces the association labels of the organic farming associations nor the retailers’ or producers’ own brands but enables the consumer to clearly distinguish between organic food and conventionally produced products on the basis of criteria that are valid throughout the EU.
Beyond this basic information provided by the Bio-Siegel the various growers, producers and suppliers can communicate the additional benefits connected with the products through target group-, retail outlet- and product-specific marketing concepts.
