No, the Bio-Siegel is not a brand but the official label for organically grown agricultural products and foods. The Bio-Siegel neither replaces the association labels of the organic farming associations nor the retailers’ or producers’ own brands. It is meant to enable the consumer to distinguish between organically and conventionally produced products at a glance. Beyond this basic information producers, processors and retailers may provide the customer with additional information – e.g. on the region of origin.
